how is it that I have never heard of Andy Goldsworthy before?
Is this why I should read the paper ?
perhaps travelling more would do

sticks in circular patterns, piled pebbles, arranged leaves, cracked pavement, painted nature, nature is art. he just brings our attention to it even more.
I want to head to the beach now, even in the rain, but it is 12:30 am
and my little guy is sleeping... I'll have to wait.

"End of season" 1993 Jack Shadbolt

mmmmm.....Jack !
I have been searching for butterfly paintings by Jack Shadbolt
on the internet, why are they so hard to find?

Next Friday I will be heading back to New York.
One of the highlights will be
the massive butterfly painting that hangs in the International
Departure area at YVR. I could stand in line there all day!

How sweet it is!

to be walking home from the cutest little bar in Greenwich village, 3am,

when it starts to rain and the cab driver doesn't know how to get to Hoboken, seriously?

But if he did, I wouldn't have seen an art magazine article about an old friend while waiting for the PATH, or the glow of the sky on the walk to the apartment, or the buildings fresh with rain against the city skyline, or the view of the train station across the cobblestone.

I wanted to stop right there and start painting !

OR return to my loft apartment that has a view of the city, pour a glass of wine and start painting - one day right!?!?

The first day of fall

The road to Wilkie

Just arrived in saskatchewan for my sister's wedding.
The roads are long, the mosquitos must drink red bull, and there is a 365° view of the sky.
This is a view heading west tonight from her truck - it's the biggest one on the road in case you were wondering!

With a borrowed drill and some helpful hints from a friend,

there was nothing stopping me.

Not even the 40 degree weather!

The stolen benches from Beansprouts have official been replaced,

come by and have a seat!

I just found my friend Tim on facebook ( fb is good for some thing)

I love love love his work! All of it!

The best laundry

My friend surrinder and I have been hard at work on community mural projects around Main Street. I love watching children splash paint around. But part of the joy has been our make work projects in Surrinder's massive driveway. Canvas, primer, tea and muffins, paint on my toes, sunshine, and chats about life - a perfect day!

It's good to leave the city!

The distance may be short but the rewards are plenty!
